Gave me gay eyes like right away. (See: NBC's "Perfect Couples," which has been cancelled; FOX's "Traffic Light," which will be any day now.)
But Wilson, a writer herself (she co-wrote "Bride Wars") knows that so many "Friends" followers have failed because writers, producers and network execs make the same irritating mistakes over and over again.
'Happy Endings' (Wed., 9:30PM ET on ABC) is off to a strong creative start, though, and may just buck that trend.
While things kicked off with Alex walking out on Dave at their wedding, it culminated in a birthday party celebration for Penny who was turning 30, but lying about her age to impress her new boyfriend.
The party quickly collapsed after that as Alex and Dave fought, Brad and then the birthday cake reveal Penny's real age and Penny has an emotional breakdown.
There's certainly plenty of personalities and relationships to delve into here. With the whole group being mutual friends of Dave and Alex, their strained relationship is a great fulcrum to challenge the whole group dynamic.
