Before PSN Back Up, Consider Changing All Logins

As you will now be well aware the PlayStation Network is down and at the moment Sony is still working to rectify the problem. We previously brought you news that the network was back up in Japan and news about the confusion between hashing and encryption when it comes to passwords.

The news we have for you today comes courtesy of a YouTube video of a formal apology from Sony. It seems the company is recommending that if the login you use for the PSN online is the same for other sites you might be registered with such as online bank and email address for example, you should change it once back online.

One of the reasons for this is because Sony does not know exactly the extent of the breach so in order to be on the safe side and ensure identities and personal details stay private they recommend the change.

 If the login name and password is the same is the same as a Hotmail account address for example these details if stolen can be used to access your email.
